Making sense of claims / A question brief
How can I tell evidence from a sales claim?
Look for a match between the evidence and the medicine in the offer. A convincing headline can skip that match.
What does FDA approval cover?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves specific drug products and uses, rather than the whole idea of peptide care.
As of September 2026, pharmacy-made medicines lack FDA approval. FDA does not review how well they work, their quality, or their safety before sale.
If someone says a medicine is effective, ask which product was tested and what health problem it helped.
Does a drug identification code mean approval?
NDC means National Drug Code, an identification number for a drug on FDA’s list.
FDA says a code or a place on that list does not mean the medicine has approval, as checked in September 2026.
If an advert gives you a drug code, ask for the FDA approval record for that exact product.
What can I ask about a study?
- Was this studied in people, or only in a lab?
- Was the product the same as the one being offered?
- What health problem was being studied?
- What did it improve, and what problems were reported?
- Can I read the source rather than a summary in an advert?
A problem reported to FDA does not prove the medicine caused it. These reports also cannot tell you how often the problem happens.
That means a count of reports cannot, on its own, compare the chance of harm between medicines.
